Fired Up

On January 20, 2017, Donald Trump was inaugurated as America's 45th President.
The day after, the Women's March on Washington took place. Why did they take to the streets?

Read the following words and phrases and their definitions.
  • call for something - say loud and clear that something is necessary or should be done
  • global - involving the entire world
  • rally - a public meeting to support or disapprove someone or something
  • affordable - not too expensive; with a price people can pay
  • under threat - in a situation that something bad or harmful could happen
  • bigotry - intolerance for people who have different opinions, beliefs, etc. than oneself
  • fired up - filled with enthusiasm and excitement
