Sinds deze maand is er een app van Albert Heijn die voedselverspilling tegen moet gaan. Ongeveer 14% van de boodschappen in Nederland belandt namelijk ongebruikt in de vuilnisbak. Ook in andere welvarende landen wordt veel voedsel ongebruikt weggegooid. Het filmpje geeft informatie over voedselverspilling in Australië.

National Library Week

Van 12 tot en met 18 april was het in de Verenigde Staten National Library Week. Elk jaar wordt tijdens die week op allerlei manieren de aandacht gericht op openbare bibliotheken. Dit jaar hebben medewerkers van de the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library een lied van de zangeres Taylor Swift bewerkt (geparodieerd) om National Library Week te vieren.
