Moose Warning



A moose is a large deer. A male moose is called a bull, a female moose is called a cow, and a young moose is called a calf. A group of moose is called a herd. The plural form of moose is "moose."
This week, people in Canada were warned about moose licking cars. These moose can get aggressive.

Read the following words and phrases and their definitions.
  • catch on - learn or understand something
  • potassium - a mineral that the body needs to work normally; found in (dried) fruits, all sorts of vegetables, and more. kalium
  • calcium - another mineral that the body needs; found in milk, cheese and such, also in nuts, beans, broccoli, and more.
  • magnesium - and yet another important mineral; found in nuts, seeds, fish, avocados, yogurt, dark chocolate, and more.
  • popsicle - a piece of flavored ice or ice cream on a stick
