A Share of the Pie

North Korea is one of the most isolated countries in the world.
But now Kim Jong-un, North Korea's leader, has met both the South Korea president and the president of the United States.
These talks could lead to many changes for the people living in North Korea. Michelle Ye Hee Lee explains.

Read the following words and phrases and their definitions.
  • summit - a meeting or series of meetings between the leaders of two or more governments
  • as a treat - as a special snack
  • stash - to collect or keep for later use
  • barter - to exchange things for other things instead of for money
  • reportedly - according to what many people say
  • black market - a system through which things are bought and sold illegally
