Nessie

Does the Loch Ness monster really exist? People have been looking for it for many years. Now they are using a special underwater robot to find answers.

Read the following words and phrases and their definitions.
  • Nessie - nickname of the monster of Loch Ness
  • loch - (in Scotland) a lake or a part of the sea that is almost surrounded by land
  • hoax - a sort of practical joke; a kind of trick
  • debunk - to show that something is not true
  • showcase - to show something in an attractive way
  • disprove - to show that something is false or wrong
  • crevice - a narrow opening or crack in a hard surface and especially in rock
  • trench - a long, narrow hole in the ocean floor
  • lair - the place where a wild animal sleeps
